Holbox is a true paradise with its sandy streets and crystal clear waters that is privileged by the most beautiful sunsets on the Mexican Caribbean coast. Its location in the north of Quintana Roo (from Cancun to Tulum) protects the island, and its white sand dunes, from the massive arrival of sargassum, as occurs in other parts of the state.

Sargassum is not bad, the cause of its arrival on the beaches of southern Quintana Roo and the rest of the Caribbean, in the quantities observed, is atypical. It is believed that the greater arrival of sargassum on the coasts is due to an unusual increase in temperatures and an increase in the nutrients in the water.

Holbox is not being impacted by this natural phenomenon, thanks to the marine currents that throw the sargassum far from its coasts and send it towards the highest point of the Gulf of Mexico towards Florida pushed by the "Corriente del Lazo". This allows you to enjoy its beautiful white sand beaches and highlight its turquoise blue coasts.
Holbox is privileged to be bordered by the extraordinary beauty of the Yum Balam reserve and beautiful virgin beaches, which exhibit a great variety of marine species. When touring its beaches you will be able to observe the low flight of some flamingos and see beautiful manta rays swimming in the distance.
It is the peculiar shape of Holbox, its location on the peninsula, the sea currents, its dunes and mangroves, which makes this space a secret refuge to enjoy and relax in the face of the unusual arrival of sargassum on the Mexican coast.
Live the essence of Holbox in a unique experience facing the sea.
